about

Every interesting new record label needs to have a first reference that fulfills our expectations. Kocliko really is, an interesting new record label, and this first reference in EP by TOMIJI looks like it fulfills our expectations in a perfect way, so now we just have to enjoy this moment in which the stars have aligned for our delight.
TOMIJI is the artistic name of the parisian artist Thomas Guilcher, half of the project Pale Spectres, and a tireless creator of dreamy pop melodies. His first songs in a proper EP come together in this seven inch single in which we quickly appreciate influences from the best indiepop from the end of the eighties and at the same time we also notice a fresh breeze of something we need and it really makes us delighted when we listen to it.
As in the photo of the front cover in which the colours and the shapes blur looking for a bigger junction, rhythms and guitars join together in the same way in these four songs as a hopeful and highly addictive whole.
"Let's flip a coin" could be used as a perfect single, the right pop song that looks for perfection and thrill. "Home" makes us think of Morrissey and also a bit about Prefab Sprout. "I'll love you forever" has got a more introspective tone and could have been a B-side of a lost single by Trembling Blue Stars. And "After all", the one at the end of the EP, leaves us the door open inviting us to think of a future with more noise, or more Reid brothers, in TOMIJI.
Let's enjoy these four songs as if it was our first time, because they do have the charm of the first times.
